Did you know that Willy Wonka first appeared in a short book in 1964 by Roald Dahl, while the “Wonka Candy Company” was not formed until 1971. This means he has seven years entirely unaccounted for. What was he up to? I think I now know.
Official records show the Wonka Candy Comp
any, arriving as is. Meaning the day, it became official, candy was available for purchase. As if it had been producing candy for years’ prior. Just not selling anything. To run a factory for even several months without selling any of its products would be a financial disaster. So he'd have to sell something? But he couldn't sell anything yet. This would make his tax information a legal nightmare. Unless he wasn't making money legally. What was Wonka doing for those seven years? Officially, he was CEO of a company that had not formed yet. This is a common technique used to hide what you're actually up to.
From the books, (Which can't be too reliable, due to the fact they were written in the mindset of telling children a story to hide the actual truth.) Here are several things we know:
1. Wonka has a vast knowledge of the world around him. We know this due to several trips outside the country, mostly to the south Pacific. We are told this is to find the best recipes for chocolate, yet some locations he is said to have been to, are nowhere near the locations for chocolate to be able to grow.
2. He is known entire though myth due to his rare interactions with the public. It is said that his factory arrived overnight. This is almost impossible. There is no way to build a massive factory in the center of town without using help from the local companies. This would mean everything was shipped in. From construction materials to labor.
3. He is willing to use slave labor to get whatever he needs. (We know Oompa-Loompa's want more than just chocolate, you can see it in their eyes.)
4. Wonka has military grade weapons and uses them in the creation of several types of candy. The Factory on its own is equipped with enough firepower to stop most militaries.
5. We discover that the end of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory that the only reason he does this is, he is getting old, and with no family left, there is no one to be his air. Only, a slight problem, Wonka won't even own a Chocolate Factory for another 7 years.
6. In the Glass Elevator, Wonka flies so high, he leaves earth’s orbit. This causes him to have to land inside the Space Hotel. Not only does he have all the right docking equipment and codes to access to the Space Hotel, which is unbeknown to the White House. The Space Hotel also uses a similar type of Glass Elevator; a cheaper version we discover later. This would mean Wonka's tech has been bought and used by the US government.

7. Due to the fact they think he is a Martian. Once they discover who it is, they greeted as one would talk to an internet friend. This meaning that Willy Wonka has a connection to the White House Staff. More than just buying and using the equipment. He is even later sent a personal invite to the white house by the president. (Though it is made clear they haven't met)
8. Upon arrival, they discover the Space Hotel is having issues with Aliens aboard, the Vermicious Knids. Wonka has more knowledge of an alien race than any of the government agencies and uses it to defeat the creatures. It is also clear that Wonka didn't provide the information to the government due to the fact that his personal glass elevator has "Knidproof" glass while the Space Hotel versions do not.
9. He has a 'Rejuvenation' Formula that reverses the age of Charlies Grandparents, turning them into children. This formula is kept entirely hidden until he feels he needs it the most. Why aren't these available on the market? He is a businessman, the bottom line is to make a profit and to a pharmaceutical company. An anti-aging pill would be the holy grail!
10. He uses an aging formula to return them to their age. However, this causes Grandma Georgina to become 358 years old. Giving her memories of being aboard the Mayflower. Not only is this time travel, this is a situational spray is a way for the discovery of facts long since hidden to time. Assuming it uses bloodlines to trace human origin to locations for the memories to be built. The right person could discover facts lost in time. Like Greek fire or Damascus steel.
Due to all the information I have laid before you, I will now make my final claim. I have, with all reason to believe, that Willy Wonka is an Arms manufacturer and dealer. Designing, Experimenting, Developing, Manufacturing, and Deploying all types weapons to be used by the US government. This would explain how he feels old and worked, due to not even having a 'candy' company yet.

Now, when humans are introduced to such a harsh truth, most tend to mark it as a lie and move on with their life. This is normal for most theories, but I assure you, this is no lie. For those who need more proof, I will be conducting an entire history of William E. Wonka. Stay tuned for part two.
